For adult colouring, or if your child is showing a real interest in art, or if you just want to give them a treat, these are the pencils you need.
Lyra’s Rembrandt range of pencils are true artist quality pencils. They give brilliant colour and are light and water resistant. This is a beautiful large tin containing 72 different colours. It makes a perfect gift for anyone, of any age, who enjoys drawing, colouring or sketching.
Recommended for ages 7 right through to adult professional artists.
Need a sharpener too? We recommend the Lyra Twin Hole Beechwood Sharpener for Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils. The Lyra Groove 2-Hole Sharpener (available in a range of colours) is also suitable for this pencil.
Tracy –
Beautiful hardy artist quality pencils that do not have to be babied like the Prismacolor Premier pencils. The core in the Lyra is slightly harder than that of the Prismacolor Premier (a mixture of oil and wax), but colour is still easy to lay down. Layering is also very easy to achieve. Colours are bright and clear. A little disappointed in the way they have housed the second layer of pencils. You need to be gentle when putting the second layer of pencils on top of the first layer as the plastic that houses the 2nd layer of pencils is very thin and can split, making it difficult to reuse. A bit hard for kids to put back correctly. That is my only gripe.
